Laws Of The Game. LOTG

 

So you've got your gear and uniform and you are ready to play football.

The coach has prepared you at training and has given you a position.

In the middle of the park is a figure in black that is blowing a whistle and throwing his hands up everywhere.

The coach calls you up as a substitute for a teammate. You prance on to the field and are ready to show everyone what you can do.

Play is restarted, the other team has the ball and the play approaches you. Keen to defend, you engage the player and win the ball.

Feeling proud you run with the ball; suddenly the whistle blows and the black figure approaches you and ....

 

A game of football cannot be played without the referee. Whether you agree with the decision he/she has made is irrelevant, their decision is final.

Coaches, spectators and players are not the referees but all seem to have an opinion during the game and is the source of much contention and outcry every weekend.

Each one will give a different interpretation as they see the game. Some will keep it to themselves, but others want to let everyone know. A good knowledge of the LOTG can be to everyone's benefit and make for more harmonious football.

 

So how good is your knowledge of the LOTG.
